Awnings and canopies aren’t just great for advertising your business, they also provide potential customers with protection from the elements and can lower your business’ cooling costs. Made from canvas and vinyl, canopies and awnings can be retracted, cleaned and refurbished, making them a solid and affordable investment.
In general, an awning consists of a canvas “skin” placed over an aluminum frame. While the canvas can fade over time, due to exposure to the elements, it can easily be cleaned, re-lettered or re-skinned, depending on your specific needs. The lifespan of the aluminum frame is much longer but, if damage from an external source does occur, it can also be repaired or reshaped.
On an awning or canopy, you can display your logo or business information directly, or choose from a variety of fabric colours and patterns to match your branding perfectly. If you’re an upscale steakhouse, why not use a classic black awning for your patio? Or, if you’re a vintage-inspired clothing boutique, adorable red-and-white striped canopies over the windows would be the perfect touch! The potential customizations don’t stop there. Canopies and awnings can come in a variety of shapes, including shed, gable and half-round. The fabric edge of an awning offers another opportunity for personalization, allowing for straight hems or a scalloped edge in a number of styles.
With an awning, you’re projecting your store’s brand into the public space. You’re differentiating yourself from your neighbours with an extra flair of décor. If your business is on a corner, for example, awnings let you advertise in multiple directions in a more subtle way than numerous signs would. Like placing potted plants at your entrance, with a canopy or awning, you are contributing positively to your community’s streetscaping. It reflects well on your business and encourages foot traffic to linger.
