Rigid PVC Panel with Vinyl Letters Wall Sign
Plastic signs encompass a wide variety of signs types and design choices. Thanks to custom plastic bending, CNC cutting and engraving, and digital printing, plastics can be shaped, coloured and cut to meet any design specifications. What unites them all is the material’s dual benefit of durability and easy maintenance. For example, the lack of grooves or grain on the smooth surface means that wiping them free of dirt is much less of a chore.
Common examples of plastic signs include box signs, plastic cut-out signs, plexi with etching or digital printing, and 3D channel LED-lit signs. So, how do you choose the right plastic sign for your business? If you’re looking for an outdoor sign that will attract notice, then an illuminated sign is your best bet. With illumination, your sign can keep working for you throughout the night. For an illuminated box sign, your design is printed on the front and it is lit from within. In general, the illumination will be strongest through the lighter parts of the printed design. With channel 3D letters, illumination can be achieved through semi-transparent letter faces, back-lighting, exposed lighting, or a combination of these options.
If your storefront is located indoors or you’re creating wayfinding signage in your building, then plastic cut-out letters, or digital printing or etching on plexi, might be the simpler and more economical option. Some elements of design that you can manipulate include the depth of your cut-out signs and the transparency or mounting elements of the plexi. For a dramatic look, for instance, you can increase the thickness of the letters or mount them further from the wall. While lighting can still be used in these situations, it can be an unnecessary cost. Plus, it might limit where you’re able to install your sign and how your sign can look.
